Lou Schad is a costume designer, fashion stylist and film director. She most recently designed costumes for BUCKY F*CKING DENT, written, directed and starring David Duchovny. Other costume designer credits include WALTER from director Anna Mastro, MTV’s FINDING CARTER, Fox Searchlight Digital’s E.T.X.R. and a variety of film, television, commercial and live theater projects. Lou’s film career began on Ang Lee’s TAKING WOODSTOCK. She worked with Mr. Lee and costume designer, Joseph Aulisi, to recreate costume and clothing pieces seen at the famous concert. She went on to work as wardrobe supervisor on WINTER’S BONE, FRIENDS WITH KIDS, 2 DAYS IN NEW YORK, PAN AM, and OUT OF THE FURNACE. With a career spanning over 15 years, Lou worked with many decorated directors and actors to become an esteemed costume designer.
Lou spent the majority of her childhood in her home state of Minnesota before attending Parsons School of Design summer arts intensive then earning a BFA from Maryland Institute, College of Art in the field of fiber art.
She now lives in Los Angeles with her husband, cinematographer Daniel Brothers and their dog and cat.
